The offshore energy industry is developing digitalization solutions to support market and business development phases to identify and secure the best possible fields while reducing environmental impact, LCoE, and maximizing energy production. Aker Offshore Wind has launched a digitalization program called “electron” in coordination with Aker Horizons and the rest of its portfolio companies. The program covers the entire capital value process. This presentation will discuss electron and an example project called NextWind for the California Energy Commission. The project calls for the development of a digital representation of a potential field in the west coast of the USA for conditioning and monitoring production and wildlife in the region.
